Blackboard is offering a free course on Designing an Exemplary Course using Blackboard’s tools. The following is the course description from the website:
Using the Blackboard Exemplary Course Program (ECP) Rubric as a guide, this open course will provide both theoretical concepts and practical tools for instructors to recognize, organize, and build online courses for both blended learners and online learners.
The course runs from September 26 – October 17, 2012.
The format of the course will be similar to a MOOC, or a Massive Open Online Course. As the learner, you can determine how much you can (or want) to participate and what areas you most want to focus on. If you have wanted to learn more about the MOOC experience, you might find the format interesting.
If you would like to sign up, visit this registration page. Click on “Self-Enroll.” You will need to create a new account to CouseSites (which is a standalone Blackboard product).
Note that this course is being run entirely by Blackboard. The La Salle ID Team can’t vouch for the content, so you may want to poke around and see if this is something that may or may not be useful to you. I’m planning to pop in, so maybe I’ll see you there!
