Are you interested in learning more about how to design courses that are accessible to students with physical and learning disabilities? Would you like to learn how to apply the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to benefit all learners? Or maybe you’d just like to try taking a MOOC or experiencing an online course in Canvas from the student’s perspective?

If any of this piques your interest, please join your friendly neighborhood instructional designers in participating in a free MOOC on designing accessible courses, which is being offered by SUNY Buffalo State and SUNY Empire State. The course is delivered through Canvas, so the interface will be familiar. It is 6 weeks long and will run from February 22 – April 5.

Watch the video below to learn more and then sign up through the Canvas Network, which is a catalog of free courses offered in Canvas. Let the Instructional Design team know if you do sign up or if you would like to learn more about this topic. If there is interest, we can arrange for follow-up activities on topics related to accessibility, creating inclusive learning environments, and Universal Design for Learning.
