Badges and non-degree certificates of learning are a growing trend in education. The idea behind these awards is that they can recognize students’ specific masteries and achievements in a visual way that they can share beyond the walls of academia, such as through social media and online portfolios. Because students have evidence of their skill sets through these badges, they can be in a better position to get hired for related internships and jobs.
Blackboard has made it easy for instructors to integrate badges into their Blackboard courses with the new achievements tool. Check out this quick video introduction to learn more:
