Academic Computing Summer Workshop Series

Please join us for this summer as we explore strategies for using cloud-based resources, managing group projects, and getting the most out of Office tools.  All sessions are in Olney 101 from 1pm to 2pm.

Thursday, May 31 & Tuesday, June 12 – Using Cloud-Based Resources for Instruction and Productivity

In this session, we will explore opportunities for using SkyDrive to host and share content with your students. You will have a chance to practice setting up your Blackboard course so that students can easily navigate between Blackboard and SkyDrive.

We will also look at ways that you can use SkyDrive to collaborate with colleagues and gain ready access to your most important files wherever you go.

Thursday, June 7 – Online Student Projects

Students need a variety of skills in order to successfully complete and present projects online.  This workshop focuses on different techniques for facilitating individual and group projects in the online environment.  We’ll explore the tools that provide the necessary supports for successful group work as well as the tools students can use to build their presentations.

PowerPoint is a great tool for sharing information.  Attend this session and you’ll find out how to

  • Reuse slides and combine presentations
  • Use screenshots and images

  • Add hyperlinks and dynamic content
