Blackboard has released new features and tools that are available for the Fall 2013 semester. This post is the last in a series that explores each new feature. You can find links to all posts in this series at the bottom of the page.
If you have questions about any of the new features or Blackboard in general, get in touch with any member of the Instructional Design team. We are happy to go over them with you!
XpLor is a new resource that Blackboard has developed to make it easier to share and reuse instructional content among courses, instructors, and institutions, regardless of whether they use the Blackboard LMS.
XpLor provides La Salle instructors and faculty with the ability to:
- Search for resources created by others and easily add them to your course. Currently, Kahn Academy videos make up the majority of the content that is posted, but the resource library is expected to grow as more institutions begin using it.
- Repurpose content that you use often and share it with multiple courses. This may be helpful for orientation materials, course policies, or other assignments and tests that you tend to share across courses.
- Share content that you have created with others. Content that you create on xpLor can be set so that only you can access it, or so that all xpLor users around the world can access it from the xpLor resource library.
You can begin exploring xpLor by navigating to a content area in any of your Blackboard courses. Click on “Build Content” and select “xpLor Content” under the Mashups heading.
