Tapping the Power of Mobile Learning

Join Apple Development Executive Dr. Jon Landis as he leads a discussion on using mobile technology in teaching.  He will cover topics such as:

  • Dealing with information overload and vetting sources
  • Forming student relationships and using those relationships to guide the students’ search for information
  • Harnessing the power of mobile devices (such as the iPad) to foster learning

Biography
Before joining Apple, Dr. Landis was a professor in the College of Education at Millersville University where he also served as graduate program coordinator of Education Leadership and coordinator of the CyberSafe Institute.  He also has experience as a chemistry teacher, principal, and curriculum director.

Jon holds his Ph.D. in Sociology, a M.Ed. Leadership, and a B.S. in Chemistry.  He speaks nationally on the risks and opportunities associated with mobile technologies.  He is a highly sought after speaker who has presented at the National Middle School Association annual conference (NMSA), The American Education Research Association International Conference (AERA), the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development Annual Conference (ASCD), and the Pennsylvania Trial Judges Annual Professional Development Conference.
