The end of the semester is nearing, and that means it’s almost time for our next professional learning institute!
These twice-a-year events are open to all La Salle faculty and staff members. They feature workshops, discussion panels, presentations, and more. We offer them as part of La Salle’s mission to develop “deeply engaged, integrated, innovative, high-impact teaching and learning.” Oh, and did we mention that there’ll be free breakfast, lunch, and raffle prizes?
This year’s Winter Institute will take place over two days. Here’s what you can expect on each day:
On Day One, presentation-style sessions will focus on integrating assessment and increasing student retention. It will also feature a keynote address from Dr. Scott Sorvaag who will be visiting from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
- Tuesday, January 9, 2018
- 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM
- Founders’ Hall
Day Two of the Winter Institute will emphasize the informal exchange of information and ideas. There will be two types of sessions:
- Discussion sessions will consist of 5–10 minutes of prepared comments followed by an interactive group discussion.
- Lightning Talks will feature a facilitator who proposes an interesting question or presents an idea in 5 minutes or less.
- Wednesday, January 10, 2018
- 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Holroyd Hall
Registration is free. Please just visit our event page and let us know you’re coming. Hope to see you there!
