Teaching Online With La Salle (TOWL) – Spring Two 2020
October 28 - November 25
You are invited to participate in a new online training course for faculty teaching online or hybrid at La Salle University. This course is a 4-week, online, asynchronous learning experience and is designed to support instructors scheduled to teach online at La Salle. It will provide you with:
- a pedagogical foundation for effective practices in online instruction,
- instructional design resources and strategies for integrating technology tools into the design of an effective and engaging online course,
- facilitation and communication strategies for providing students with feedback on their learning.
At the end of this course, you will walk away with a final syllabus, a plan for designing your online course, and a working relationship with the instructional design team.
This course is offered on the Canvas LMS and consists of modules that will help participants through each step of online course design and facilitation. In each module, participants will be asked to complete readings, watch/listen to multimedia resources, participate in course discussion boards, take self-check quizzes, and submit planning documents related to the development of an online course. Participants should expect to spend 1 – 2 hours reviewing content and 1 – 2 hours completing activities per week.
Please submit your RSVP to Eventbrite. Once you have registered, we will send an invitation to the Canvas course to your La Salle email a few days prior to the start of the course.
Classes start Monday, October 28, 2019.
